OAA 2010: Indian Outdoor at its best!!

Started with a dream to harbour recognition for the work and the contribution that Outdoor Industry does for brands, Outdoor Advertising Awards was started six years back. Now in its 6th Edition Outdoor Advertising Awards is only getting bigger and better. With scam controversies becoming more of a phenomena at every advertising awards, its a delight that Outdoor Advertising Awards 2010 has witnessed the most amount of geninune Outdoor work. Over the years we at Outdoor Advertising Awards have continuously strived to bring forth the geniune work happening in the industry. As a part of this effort we dropped 'Posters Category' as it is the most prone to scams. More so posters as an OOH format hardly exists in India and therefore do not warrant a specific category, also except posters all entries are judged by product / service categories, and not by OOH formats that were used.





Further authenticity of Outdoor Advertising Awards is ensured by its higly capable jury. This year we had Shashi Sinha, CEO - Lodestar Universal India as the Chairman of the jury. And the other jury members consisted of personalities from varied backgrounds like Shams Kabir - Head Media Buying - Star India, Arminio Ribeiro - CEO - Madison Outdoor, , Punitha Arumugam - Group CEO - Madison Media, Madhuri Sapru - Managing Partner - Kinetic and Dialect, Ajay Kakar - Chief Marketing Officer – Financial Services - Aditya Birla Group, Pratap Bose- Chief Operating Officer - Mudra Group, S Yesudas - Managing Director, Indian sub-continent, Vizeum (Aegis Group), it was a perfect mix.

Starting this year, the judging process was also modified. Till last year, there were two panels of judges, one for the creative awards module and the other for the media awards module. This year we had one Jury judging both creative and media entries. The Jury went through a day long rigorous judging process. In the first round of judging the jury members put in their individuals scores for each entry. Based on the scores, shortlists were prepared. After which the jury members and Jury chairman discussed and debated each shortlist, and the final decision to award happened with a ‘Show of hands’. This entire process sure was action packed. And putting in their sincerest efforts the Jury handpicked this year’s best Outdoor Work.

This year total of 260 entires were received across the categories and total of 48 winners were awarded with Gold (15), Silver(16) and Merit (17)

With Outdoor Industry growing and greater amount of creativity seeping in, Outdoor Advertising Awards will year after year keep reflecting the astounding work.
